Hey stargazers and dark-sky chasers! Join us in La Palma for a small-group astrophotography tour focused on capturing Milky Way panoramas, volcanic landscapes, and the island’s seasonal wildflowers. We’ll visit dark-sky locations, look for flower-filled foregrounds, and work on panoramic compositions throughout the trip. We’ll also have time to enjoy local food, swim, and experience the island between shooting sessions. The tour is suitable for both experienced photographers and those who are still developing their night photography skills.

This is a photo tour for photographers aiming on hardcore astro instead of sight-seeing!
HIGHLIGHTS
START: 3 June 2027 in Santa Cruz de La Palma. Either accessible flying to the airport, or sailing from Tenerife or other islands with ferry.
END: 7 June 2027 in Santa Cruz de La Palma. Make sure your flight is shifted towards the evening hours. You can fly from SPC or take the ferry to Tenerife and get a plane.
Although this trip is calm and relaxed, participants should be in standard good health, as we may photograph at altitudes of up to 2,500m. Participants must follow the guide’s instructions during the workshop and bring the required equipment.
Travel insurance that covers medical expenses, trip cancellations, and unforeseen situations is highly recommended. Better safe than sorry!

Itinerary
Our tours do not follow the rigid schedules typically associated with traditional sightseeing trips. As we explain from the outset, our primary purpose is astrophotography.
Sightseeing is secondary—our priority is capturing banger images!
The itinerary may therefore change at short notice based on weather conditions, cloud coverage, astronomical conditions, and our assessment of where the best photographic opportunities will be.
All night sessions will end at 3am. This secures that everyone has enough images and avoids burnout.
3/6 Arrival on La Palma & early night session
If you arrive between 2pm-3pm we can pick you from the airport. Otherwise, we'll meet at out accommodation HERE, to check-in and leave our stuff. Depending on the arrival time of all participants we'll have a quick lunch in the beautiful town, the capital of Santa Cruz de La Palma or we'll grab something to bite and prepare our gear for the night.
We're staying in one of the most beautiful accommodations in the island, Parador de La Palma.
The first night is what we call "acclimatising". We're will spend about 3-4 hours on the field. The goal is to reach our location just before sunset at 8:30pm, enjoy the twilight and stay till 1am. At 1:30am we'll depart and return to our accommodation to rest.
4/5 Night Photography over the Telescopes
The next day we will recharge our batteries, prepare our equipment we're going to enjoy the hotel pool and visit Santa Cruz de la Palma for coffee, lunch and shopping. In the evening, we will leave for another night adventure to the top of the island. We head to a beautiful viewpoint which will give us the ability to capture the famous MAGIC telescopes.
5/5 Capturing panoramas over Pico de la Cruz
Having already two nights on our backs marks it as the perfect time to review images. We can sit and relax by the pool where we can discuss on your images and provide tips and constructive criticism. We want you to become better and get nice and impactful images on this trip. The day schedule remains the same. You can relax by the pool, edit your images or come to the town with us for a lunch. For our night session, we picked the dramatic Pico de la Cruz. A short hike (15min) from the road will lead us to the viewpoint where we'll practice capturing panorama.
6/5 Calderas of Mirador de Los Andenes
This is our final night of astrophotography on La Palma, and we’ll spend it at Mirador de Los Andenes, overlooking the caldera and the surrounding volcanic ridges.
We’ll arrive before sunset to scout the area, look for seasonal wildflowers, and choose foregrounds for the night session. As darkness falls, we’ll focus on combining the flowers, textured volcanic terrain, and caldera walls with the Milky Way.
Depending on the conditions and the available compositions, we’ll work on both single-frame images and wider panoramas. This will also be a chance to apply everything we have practised during the previous nights, from planning and focusing to lighting the foreground and processing panoramic sequences.

This is our last day at the Canaries. We'll depart and say goodbye to this incredible trip!

I don’t want to stay in shared rooms. Can you arrange something to fit my needs?
As we stated, we are not a travel company, if sharing a room is too difficult for you, you can arrange a different accommodation. A part of your accommodation expenses will be held as administrative fees.
Can I participate in only a part of the trip?
This is not possible due to logistics, booking accommodations and cars. Subsequently, the full ticket must be paid.
I want to bring a friend/relative with me, but he/she isn’t a photographer. Should he pay?
Your friend would eventually be a part of our group, so yes, the full ticket must be paid.
Is there a difference between a workshop and a tour?
Yes, workshops are designed for people who also want to learn some fundamental and expand their knowledge in astrophotography. Tours are suitable for people who have already a good grasp on astro and just want to visit beautiful places to photograph. For that reason, workshops tend to be more expensive.
Are we alone in the universe?
We sincerely hope not.
We are not a travel agency. We simply assist with bookings and provide photography advice.
Participants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of the tour.
Participants are required to bring all mandatory equipment listed on the tour page. This is necessary for personal safety and the smooth execution of the activity. The organizers reserve the right to deny participation to anyone who does not have the required equipment, if this may compromise safety or the group experience.
The remaining balance must be paid by 5th of April 2027. Failure to do so may result in the participant’s booking being cancelled. In such a case, the cancellation policy below will apply.
Participants acknowledge that outdoor activities, even of low difficulty, involve inherent risks such as uneven terrain, darkness, weather conditions, and natural obstacles. Each participant is responsible for assessing their own physical and mental condition and ensuring they are able to safely take part in the activity.The organizers are responsible for planning and conducting the activity with reasonable care, providing instructions, and making decisions in the interest of group safety. However, the organizers are not liable for injuries, accidents, or damages resulting from risks inherent to outdoor environments, or from a participant’s failure to follow instructions.
Participants must honestly disclose any health conditions that may affect their ability to safely participate. By joining the tour, participants confirm they are physically and mentally fit for this type of activity. The organizers are not responsible for medical issues or injuries arising from pre-existing conditions or from undisclosed health information. If a participant is unable to continue due to health reasons, lack of required equipment, or behavior that compromises safety, the organizers reserve the right to remove them from the activity. In such cases, the organizers’ responsibility is limited to assisting with safe return where reasonably possible and contacting emergency services if necessary. Any related costs (e.g. rescue, transport) are the participant’s responsibility.
The organizers reserve the right to modify the program, schedule, or locations if necessary due to weather, safety concerns, local regulations, or other circumstances beyond their control. Any changes will aim to preserve the overall nature and quality of the experience.
An invoice or receipt will be issued after the completion of the tour for the total amount paid.
Official updates from the organizers will be sent via email (info@starlight-adventures.com) and/or the group chat.
Cancellations must be requested via email. A cancellation is considered valid only after you receive written confirmation from the organizers.
“Remaining amount” refers to the total tour price minus any non-refundable costs already paid on the participant’s behalf (e.g. accommodation, permits, hut fees).
No refund is available unless the participant’s place is filled by another person. In that case, 50% of the remaining amount will be refunded.
In case of cancellation within the last 48 hours due to exceptional circumstances, the organizers reserve the right to retain documented, non-refundable expenses already incurred.
The tour will take place only if a minimum of 5 participants is reached. If this number is not met, all payments will be refunded minus the non-refundable expenses.
