Come and enjoy the magic of the winter Belianske Tatras with us in a place where time seems to have stopped. The first and unique workshop near the village of Ždiar with views of the dark night sky, winter constellations, and snowy mountains. Experience the true winter atmosphere in a beautifully painted, iconic cottage in a remote location. Directly from there, it is possible to photograph the Orion constellation above the peaks. Three days full of lectures and lessons from an experienced lecturer. In case of clear weather, photography is possible directly on site.

Come with us to a traditional highland hut for winter, relaxation, and astrophotography. The workshop is designed for beginners, but also for advanced ones, as the lectures will gradually focus on all the pitfalls associated with photography. It is not limited by physical condition, as the hut can be reached directly by car, and we take photos directly from the hut. Having travel insurance that covers medical expenses, trip cancellations, and unforeseen situations is a highly recommended option. Better safe than sorry! Below, you can see the backbone of the itinerary. The tour guide may change the itinerary depending on the weather conditions.

Our workshop begins with a meeting in the afternoon in Ždiar, from where we will move together to our accommodation. We will stay in a beautiful and cozy painted highland hut. After unpacking, we will move straight to the lectures, where we will discuss the basics of astrophotography, the night sky, and choosing the right equipment and settings. In case of clear weather, we will go outside at night and directly from the hut we will first photograph the zodiacal light, then the setting of Orion.

We never idle at this workshop, and in the morning we will have more lectures on astrophotography. We will go over the methods of photography, panoramic shooting, composing images, star trails, tracking, stacking, and other interesting and useful photography techniques. After lunch, we will take a short break and continue with a series of lectures with direct demonstrations of processing either photos taken the night before or with supplied photos from the past. In the evening, if the weather is clear, we will set out to photograph the night sky directly from the cottage, or from a nearby location with a different composition.

In the morning we will attend the last lectures focused on meteor showers and go through personal consultations focused on your needs. In the afternoon we say goodbye to our beautiful stay in the heart of the Belianske Tatras, from where we leave relaxed, full of shared experiences and, most importantly, loaded with knowledge from all the lectures.

Even though we booked the entire cottage for our group, payment for accommodation is made in cash directly to the owner upon check-in. The workshop price does not include accommodation, which is €80 per person for the entire stay.

Private rooms. If you don’t agree to stay in a double rooms with single beds, you have to pay extra. Contact us before booking to let you know the final price.

The participant must be at least 18 years old.
The participant must bring with him all the mandatory equipment listed on the tour page.
The participants should pay the rest of their ticket by the 28th of Feb 2026. If not, the hosts have the right to remove the participant.
The participant has the full responsibility to judge whether he/she can participate in the tour without compromising his/her health, as well as to ensure that he/she will not endanger his/her physical integrity or that of the other participants. For this reason, the hosts are not responsible for the cancellation of the trip or change of planning for this reason. Also in case, the participant is in danger of either injury, loss of body part, or life itself, the responsibility of the organizer is limited to the correct preparation and correct decision/choice/change of design, and the provision of instructions to ensure as much as possible physical integrity and mental and spiritual health of the participants.
The participant is responsible and accountable for the honest statement of his health status, acknowledges and accepts that the hosts are not responsible for injuries or health problems that existed before, as well as for any burden that may be suffered by his/her health condition, from his/her participation in the activity. In case the participant due to a false or insufficient declaration of health status or unavailability (due to his/her fault) of the equipment required so that he/she can not cope with the planning of the trip/activity, the hosts have the right to remove the participant from the activity, with the sole obligation to ensure a safe return and to call for rescue assistance, if and when needed. The cost of the rescue is paid solely by the participant. In case he/she puts the whole team or another member at risk due to false or inadequate health status or problems, he/she has the sole responsibility for any financial claim or any legal decision taken by the other members.
The organizers reserve the right to modify the program unilaterally.
The invoice/receipt will be issued after the end of the tour.
Any change/update by the hosts will be done at info@starlight-adventures.com or the group chat.
Cancellations must be required formally via email only. You should expect to get a validation email from us to consider your cancellation complete. Any refunds or charges will be applied after that.
UNTIL 28th OF FEBRUARY 23:59 UTC: . You get back 100% of the remaining, if paid.
FROM 1st OF MARCH 00:00 UTC AND ON: no refund if we can’t replace your spot. If your spot is replaced 50% of the remaining amount will be returned.
The tour will take place only if the minimum number of people (8) is met. If that criteria is not met, the full amount will be refunded.
In case of cancellation due to extenuating circumstances within the last 48 hours, the right to withhold reasonable expenses (fees that cannot be refunded) is reserved. In any case, an attempt will be made to postpone the trip to a later date.
In case of cancellation by the participant, the invoice will be sent after the tour for the amount that may have been withheld.
